A newly released video circulating online is shedding light on a remarkable act of bravery by ordinary Australians during the deadly terror attack at Bondi Beach.

Dashcam footage captures the harrowing moment a married couple confronted one of the gunmen, attempting to stop the attack before they were fatally shot.

Married couple fought back

At least 15 people were killed when two gunmen opened fire on a crowd celebrating Hanukkah at Bondi Beach in Sydney on Sunday, December 14.

Police later identified the suspects as 50-year-old Sajid Akram, who was killed at the scene, and his 24-year-old son, Naveed Akram, who has since regained consciousness from a coma and remains in police custody. Australian authorities said they discovered makeshift Islamic State flags and improvised explosive devices inside a vehicle believed to have been used by the attackers.
