The confession
- In November 2025, Paris Jackson revealed she suffers from a perforated septum — a hole in the cartilage separating the nostrils — which she says resulted from past drug use. She shared a video showing her condition, noting a “really loud whistle” when she breathes.
- She didn’t mince words: addressing the camera, she said, “That’s what you think it’s from … don’t do drugs, kids.”
- Paris admitted she’s lived with the condition since she was about 20 years old.
The fallout & realism
This isn’t mere celebrity drama — a perforated septum is a serious medical issue. According to medical sources, it can be caused by drug misuse, injuring nasal tissues. Because of this damage, certain things become difficult: breathing normally, recording music (her work as a singer), and even daily comfort. Paris acknowledged these challenges, saying it’s been “hella” in studio sessions.
Choosing sobriety over surgery
Reflecting on her recovery
Earlier in 2025, Paris celebrated five years clean and sober. In a heartfelt social-media post, she described how sobriety has allowed her to “smile today, make music, feel life fully” — love her pets, feel joy and grief, trust again.
Her openness about addiction, recovery, and physical consequences has added to growing conversations about mental health, substance abuse, and the often unseen aftermath — even for those born into fame.
Her Stand on the Upcoming Biopic: “Not My Circus, Not My Monkeys”
The biopic plan
There’s an upcoming feature film — titled Michael — centered on the life of Michael Jackson. The project has been in the works for years. Its release is now slated for April 24, 2026.
Paris’s rejection of involvement
Though one of the film’s actors, Colman Domingo, recently claimed that Paris (and her brother) were “very much in support” of the production, Paris promptly denied it. She took to social media to say she had “zero per cent involvement.”
She explained that she briefly read an early draft of the script and offered feedback on what she felt was dishonest. When those notes were ignored, she distanced herself. “Not my monkeys, not my circus,” she wrote.
Why she objected — “sugar-coated”, “full-blown lies”
Paris was sharply critical of the narrative direction. She accused the biopic of pandering to a portion of her father’s fanbase that exists in a “fantasy” — one detached from reality. She warned that while the film might appeal to those nostalgic for a sanitized Michael Jackson, the story would be inaccurate and misleading.
She went as far as to brand Hollywood biopics generally as controlled narratives — “full-blown lies” disguised as truth.
