At least 15 people were killed when two gunmen opened fire on a crowd celebrating Hanukkah at Bondi Beach in Sydney on Sunday, December 14.
Police later identified the suspects as 50-year-old Sajid Akram, who was killed at the scene, and his 24-year-old son, Naveed Akram, who has since regained consciousness from a coma and remains in police custody. Australian authorities said they discovered makeshift Islamic State flags and improvised explosive devices inside a vehicle believed to have been used by the attackers.
