Story of the Day: A woman receives a call from the hospital, learning that she lost her beloved sister and has two newborn nephews.

“One day, I hope you will see that you made a mistake by leaving my sister and your boys behind. I only hope you’ll ask for forgiveness before it’s too late,” the text said.

Linda agreed to be the guardian of her two nephews on that day. After her adoptive parents, who had been of great assistance to her, she called them Timothy and Gabriel. Making sure the guys constantly supported one another was, in her opinion, the most crucial thing she could do to honor her mother and sister.

“No matter what arguments you boys have, you should always stick together, through thick and thin,” Linda said to her nephews. Together, the three had a contented existence, and Linda took particular pride in giving the boys a place to call home.

Linda usually brought them to lay fresh flowers on their grandmother’s and mother’s graves as a way to honor them.

Linda had always wanted they could have made amends while she was still living, and she had forgiven her sister. However, since Timothy and Gabriel shared Amanda’s eyes, she always felt at ease when she looked at them.
